Ragsdale Liggett PLLC has announced that on Tuesday, Oct. 3, attorneys from the firm were sworn in and officially admitted as members of the Supreme Court of the United States. The group traveled to Washington D.C. on Oct. 2 and were received by the court at 10 a.m. the next morning.
Founding partner George Ragsdale, having successfully argued a case in the Supreme Court in 1992 and already a member of the Court since 1973, introduced his colleagues and moved their admission to the Court. Chief Justice John Roberts ordered their admission upon Mr. Ragsdale’s motion and addressed Ragsdale Liggett lawyers personally, welcoming each as newly admitted members of the Court.

Melissa Dewey Brumback, partner, Litigation Dorothy Bass Burch, partner, Business Mary Hulett, partner, Litigation David K. Liggett, partner, Business William A. Mann, partner, Real Estate John M. Nunnally, partner, Litigation Walter L. Tippett, Jr., partner, Litigation Richard O. Bolton, associate, Real Estate Ashley Huffstetler Campbell, associate, Litigation John R. Hemphill, associate, Litigation Sandra W. Mitterling, associate, Litigation.
Firm members of counsel, Joseph E. Johnson and Sarah E. Winslow, were each admitted upon a written motion on Oct. 2. Ragsdale Liggett attorneys previously admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court include Frank R. Liggett III in 1991 and Robert J. Ramseur in 2002.
